Gothic: Gothic art is a script, a calculus and a symbolic code. The result is a deep and perfect harmony, a kind of frozen music. Gothic art can be summed up as theoretical calculation raised to mystery and Gothic architecture represents this: the interior is airy and weightless since the heaviest portions of the structure are beyond the interior view; it is visible only from the outside. There is an emphasis on strict geometric planning and a quest for luminosity going on at the same time.

Grass seeds of our destruction will flourish in the desert, the alexin of our cure grows by a mountain rock, and all our lives are haunted by a French hustler because a Palestinian terrorist went unhung.

Guattari, Felix: "The span of developed and constructed spaces extends quite beyond their visible and functional structures. They are essentially machines, machines of meaning, of sensation, abstract machines..."
